iOS developers can already submit apps optimized for iPhone Duo to the App Store, Apple says. The company describes adaptation APIs in the iOS 27.1 SDK and foldable-device simulation in Xcode 27.1. Phone availability begins October 23 in the first group of countries; the article does not separately establish the SDK’s stable release status.
According to Apple, standard SwiftUI and UIKit components automatically adapt layouts to the displays and device position. Custom interfaces can use arrangement and reserved region APIs, while the hinge API responds to the opening angle. Scene accessories allow content on both displays simultaneously.
