Copilot previews Projects and desktop app control

GitHub Copilot Connects Projects and Apps

GitHub Copilot Projects are now in public preview in the Copilot app. Developers can set a goal spanning several repositories, attach designs and notes, and choose models and tools. Copilot coordinates agents in the background and returns results, such as pull requests, for review. Project automations support repeatable tasks.

Context from connected Slack and Figma tools can support request research, specification drafting, and design work alongside code. Chat also supports generating and editing images from natural-language descriptions.

A separate public preview brings computer use to macOS and Windows. Copilot can read interfaces, click controls, and edit text even in apps without an API, CLI, or MCP integration. Users must enable the feature and approve app control. Macs also require Accessibility and Screen Recording permissions, and organizations can disable the capability.
